Plotline is a personal letter written and sent by Valentina Grippo. This notice explains what happens to your personal data when you receive it, as required by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The data controller is Valentina Grippo, Rome, Italy. For anything concerning your data, write to plotline@valentinagrippo.org.
What we hold and where it came from
We hold your email address, and where known your name, country, organisation and role. We may also record whether an issue was delivered, opened or clicked, which the sending platform collects automatically.
Your details were either given by you when you subscribed, or come from an existing professional or institutional relationship with Valentina Grippo, for instance because we have corresponded, met or worked together.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To send you Plotline, about every two weeks, in English. If you subscribed, the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you are an existing professional contact, the legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): keeping in touch with a professional network on matters of public interest. You can object at any time, and we will stop.
- To understand how the letter is read, in aggregate, so as to improve it.
We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
Who processes it
Plotline is sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France), which stores and processes the data on our behalf within the European Union, under a data processing agreement.
How long we keep it
For as long as you remain on the list. If you unsubscribe, your address is kept only on a suppression list, so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
Your rights
You can at any time access the data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its use, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent without affecting what was done before. Write to plotline@valentinagrippo.org.
Every issue carries an Unsubscribe link: one click removes you from the list.
If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you may complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority of your own country.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version will be published at this address with the date of the update.
